There are so many and so many different types that I’ve just mentioned some of the closest and my favourites.
Poppit Sands:definitely my favourite. Even in high summer it never feels crowded. At low tide there must be a couple of miles of sand plus the dunes and the fascinating rock formations on the east side of the beach. Sizable car park, toilets and lovely cafe open all summer. Very popular with dog walkers, bird watchers, coast path walkers, surfers, kite surfers, sandcastle builders and ice cream eaters.
Also nearby is Aberporth, Mwnt and the Parrog. If you fancy exploring I would strongly recommend the Stackpole which is a National Trust property with extensive gardens and a lovely walk around Bosherton lily ponds to the fabulous beaches of Barafundle and Broadhaven South. There is a National Trust cafe or why no take a picnic. [We can provide a packed lunch if you’d like one.]
This is a great area for watersports – my current wish list includes kayaking down the Teifi to Poppit sands : I think this can be managed from our garden ( depending on the river level ) but can definitely be achieved a bit further upstream. It’s grade one all the way to the sea so please do bring your kayaks / canoes if you have them. If we can’t fit them in the garage we can easily bring them into the garden.
